Yoga promotes health and well-being with an emphasis on body alignment, movement, and breath. A consistent yoga practice strengthens and tones the body and keeps you healthy. It has a profound effect on the circulation and on the functioning of the inner organs, glands and nerves, keeping all systems in optimum condition and leading to greater energy, focus and concentration. Many common physical ailments such as back pain and fatigue can also be helped through regular practice. As a physical practice, yoga is unique because we link the movement of the body and the fluctuations of the mind to the rhythm of our breath.

Connecting the mind, body and breath encourages us to direct our attention inward, so we can become more aware of our experiences from moment to moment. Yoga invites us to tune in with our emotional state. We discover how we are feeling about ourselves, our relationships to others and the world we are part of. The yoga mat becomes a space to reflect, to experiment with change and to let go of stress.
